Our mother, Nancy, was one of the sweetest, funniest and strongest women to everyone she knew or met and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Born in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania she lived a brief time in New York, Oklahoma and California, and eventually chose San Antonio, Texas as her home for 40+ years.
Nancy was a wonderful mother and spent her life caring for her husband and children. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Cheryl and Debbie who spent many happy hours enjoying her fun personality while watching vintage western TV shows and movies which were her favorite. She was a cradle Lutheran before becoming a United Methodist.
She was a lifelong pet lover and gave many dogs and cats happy homes over her lifetime. She was an armchair bird watcher, a member of the Audubon Society in high school and spent many enjoyable hours looking out her window and whistling bird songs. She loved singing and had a lovely voice.
Mom was predeceased by our brother Albert Packard, Jr. and her husband Don Huffman. She is survived by daughter Cheryl Broome and husband Kevin, grandsons Matthew Broome and Eric Broome, daughter Debbie Carlton and husband Billy, sister Em Sheddy and many other New York, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma relatives.
We are most grateful to the people who cared for her these past months and year: Amanda Forsland loved her as if she were her own mother and stayed with her until the end; Heather Floyd Newell brought Mom hours of fun, joy and companionship; Connie Tyler and Lauren Henderson who gave Mom their love and support in Montgomery, Texas; Amedisys Hospice who gave Mom and all of us support and peace; Dr. Marvin Moszkowicz and Tessy Kadavil NP who provided Mom and her daughters with excellent medical and emotional care.
Interment will be in Conroe, Texas.
