He later met a woman named Ernestine Juarez at a family wedding, unknowing that Ernestine’s mother had already laid eyes on him for her daughter. Then after a couple months of dating Ernestine, he had asked her to marry him. Not too long into the engagement he made already had a name for himself in the Juarez family as “Uncle Mike” to 57 nieces and nephews. He took pride in this new chapter in his life. He would always be that uncle that played with all the kids and made sure to make smiles come from their face. Mike was known for always carrying balloons and whistles in his pockets for the kiddos. After they got married on April 28, 1973 they started their new married life and began to take lovely vacations together. Then after trying and waiting for 23 years, they finally got the news that they were going to have a baby. They had been praying for this miracle to come, so God granted their deeply desire to be able to adopt a baby girl in which they named Katie Angel Rangel.
Mike was very active in his daughter’s life who enjoyed taking photos and videos of every moments that he could. He never missed a single dance recital, volleyball game, or basketball game.
