Miguel Alameda Garcia

Our Merciful God has called forth Miguel Alameda Garcia, age 96, of San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Miguel Garcia was born in Texas on October 9, 1926 to Carolina G'sell Alameda and Emilio Zambrano Garcia.

His family knew Miguel would live a long life due to the humor in his character and the strength of his will. We are saddened by his passing and those left behind learn from his life and find inspiration. For many of his family members, he was a role model and an expert at fixing things that were broken due to his inclined mechanical skills. His workshop that he had in his backyard was a gathering place for him and his children to enjoy a cold beer while fixing a motor or changing the spark plugs all while listening to music. This servant of God found a little piece of Paradise here on Earth; whenever he would bicycle from Mission County Park to Mission Espada Park along the San Antonio River, where he enjoyed an enduring love of nature. Miguel was known for enjoying the small pleasures in life, during his trips he would make frequent stops to admire the scenery; such as the trees, the flowers, and the birds. He believed all of those things were blessings and God's gifts to him.

Miguel followed in the footsteps of his family members before him of being a train worker even though the work was tough he would always work with a happy and willing heart. When Miguel wasn't working long, and hard hours to support his family, he was making memories at gatherings with his family and friends.

Miguel will be reunited in heaven with his parents Emilio and Carolina Garcia, his wife, Josephine Barerra Vasquez Garcia; and his siblings.

His memory will forever be remembered by his sons Miguel "Mike" V. Garcia (Yolanda), Rudy V. Garcia, George V. Garcia (Susie); his daughter, Diana "Nita" Garcia-Gutierrez. His grandchildren, Miguel (Stacie), Elloy (Julie), David, Vanessa (David), Tanya, Tasha, Chooky, Josette, and Randy;14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his 2 great-great-great grandchildren. Along with his cousins, and numerous extended family.

The family would also like to offer a special thanks to Miguel's nephew, Edward Martinez, and his wife Lupe along with his niece, Irene Cantu, and family for their love and consideration during this time. The family would also like to extend thanks to the family and friends, especially the Band of Brothers and the VFW Honor Guard as well as Raymond Gutierrez the live bugler that reached out to share a sentiment or any words of encouragement during this time.
