Mike or "Mac" as some people knew him, was born in San Angelo, Texas in 1947, but grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. His family moved to San Antonio, Texas when Mike was in middle school. He graduated from MacArthur High School and went on to serve his country in the Air National Guard. After leaving the military he lived in San Marcos, Texas where he was a partner at a filling station. Later, Mike returned to San Antonio where he worked in the insurance industry as a heavy equipment appraiser. Mike married his first wife Kathy Kenney and raised two children together.
Mike was an avid participant of chili cook-offs and an original staple of the Texas Folklife Festival. When not camping or attending an event he was barbecuing on the weekends watching Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboys football. He met his second wife Claire and they settled down in Bulverde, Texas to enjoy their retirement.
Mike is survived by his wife, Claire; brother, Tony Parker; sister, Rogayle Franklin; and his children, Michael McGlothlin, Jr., and Katie Sharp. Mike is also survived by his four stepchildren, Tim Martin, Terry Martin, Jr., Tom Martin, and Cathy Shea. Mike loved and adored his grandchildren, Larkin, Marilyn, Jay, Brooke, Chevy, Maya, James, Lily, Sam, and Jacob.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed.
