Left behind to honor Michael's legacy is his wife of 55 years, Tinna Loden of Cibolo, Texas; son, Mark A. Loden of Cibolo, Texas; granddaughters, Toni Loden of Cibolo, Texas and Amber Loden of Killeen, Texas; grandson, Mark C. Loden Jr. of Killeen, Texas; great grandson, Wyatt Loden of Killeen, Texas; brother, Tim Loden of Georgia; sister-in-law, Susan Nelson of Virginia and brother-in-law, Larry Nelson or Virginia; nephews, Brad Nelson of New York, Preston Nelson of New York, Cortney Nelson of New York, and Allen Harrison of Georgia.
Michael honorably served 24 years in the United States Air Force, 10 years of Civil Service, and 5 years of service for the state of Texas. Michael was proud of the time he served and was awarded several honor including the Air Force commendation medal W/1 OLC, the Air Force Medal outstanding unit award, the organizational excellence award, and the good conduct medal W/1 silver and bronze OLC. He also earned the National defence Service Medal W/1 bronze star.
Michael's favorite hobbies included bowling and golf and even belonged to his own bowling league. He was also a member of the DAV, Disabled American Veterans which is a group of volunteers that assists veterans with disability claims. Their motto is “Fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.” Michael stood out in life for being honest, caring, and the most sincere person. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and for his wife.
A visitation for Michael will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset North Funeral Home with a committal service to follow at 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
