Michael J Garcia, 49, passed away September 9, 2018. Born March 1, 1969, to Jose Luis Garcia and Lillian Y. Cavazos (née Garza) in Houston, Texas. Michael grew up in San Antonio, Texas, but spent summers with his grandparents, from both sides of the family, in Brackettville, and San Diego, Texas. His father, Jose (Joe) was a rancher, and taught Michael to be an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Michael also had a creative side. He became a talented photographer at a young age. He loved taking photos of nature, wildlife, and the rustic images of life in a small town. His intellect motivated him to attend A&I in Kingsville after graduating from high school.
Michael is survived by his three beautiful children, Alexandria Garcia, William Garcia, Joshua Garcia, and their mother, Patricia Garcia; his mother, Lillian Cavazos and her husband, Mario, and his three siblings, John Garcia (Kathy), Teri Ochoa (Jimmy), and Marc Cavazos. Michael worked hard to instill family values and the love of the outdoors into each of his children. He enjoyed visiting the beach, hunting, BBQing, listening to music, and weekend family outings with his children. Michael enjoyed a career in IT and worked as a Network Engineer.
Micheal’s most striking features were his piercing green eyes and his contagious laughter. He had a feisty and unpredictable personality, and won a place in the heart of everyone he met. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, friend, and he will be greatly missed.
