Maynard Henry Kolb

Beloved father and grandfather, Maynard Henry Kolb, born June 6, 1929 in Fairfax, Minnesota, passed away on May 6, 2019 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret Kolb, and his brother, Henry Kolb, Jr. Maynard is survived by his children, Margaret Kolb Traeger (John Andrew, Jr.), Helynne “Lynne” Kolb Lawrence, Kevin Kolb (Elizabeth); brothers, Robert Kolb (Verlaine) and Francis “Butch” Kolb; grandchildren, Christopher Lawrence, Michelle Lawrence VanOverloop (John), Michael Lawrence, Andrew Traeger, Stephen Traeger and Michael Murray. Maynard was a decorated war veteran and retired as a Major after 20 years in the Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam as a pilot. He continued flying as a test pilot and opened an investment counseling business. He also attained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University. Maynard was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus and he also sang in Barbershop quartet and in the choir. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church, 510 S. Camp St, Seguin, TX 78155, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am, with a Mass to follow at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 pm in pavilion #5.
