Mary Ann Pena

Mary Ann first came to St. Mary Magdalen in the early year of 1987. During her 20-year span, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. In December 1994, she joined the Alter Society and The Guadalupana Society. She became a Eucharistic Minister doing Sacristy work and assisted with the Santa Rosa Hospital downtown for 7 years.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Richard, Fred, Joe De La Fuente, and sister Virginia Oviedo.

She is survived by her daughters Roseanne Garcia; husband Abelardo Garcia, and Susan Hernandez; husband Claudio Hernandez. Grandchildren: Michelle Garcia, Robert Ortiz Jr, Abelardo Cruz Garcia, Roxanne Garcia, Rene Hernandez, and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers (515 N. Main Ave) on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral procession will depart Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers on Friday April 27, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 am Mass of the Resurrection at Saint Gregory the Great Church (700 Dewhurst Rd), with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II (746 Castroville Rd).

Reception will proceed the services at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church – Jubilee Hall (1710 Clower) from 11:00am till 1:00pm.
