Mary Janet House

Mrs. Mary Janet House, 77, of Holly Springs, Ark. passed away Wednesday, December 07, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. She was born June 6, 1934 in Powellton, WV. and graduated from McMillan Nursing School and served in the Army Nurses Corps as a First Lieutenant. She worked at Brooke Army Medical Center for most of her career and was part of the medical team that cared for President Lyndon B. Johnson in his later years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Comfort Burgess Hardin and Mary Elizabeth Hardin; son, Daniel Edward House; brother Bill Hardin and one sister, Pamela Coffman. She is survived by her husband, Edward House of Holly Springs; son, Kenneth House of Phoenix, AZ. and her loving daughter Beverly House of Holly Springs; brothers, William (Carolyn) Hardin of Orange City, FL, Larry Mitchell, Brig. General. (Ret.) (Susan) of Mineral, VA. and Harold Hardin of St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Texas Special Olympics. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
