Mary R De La Cruz

Mary R. De La Cruz entered eternal rest and joined the Lord on July 30, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1920 in Blissfield, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joe De La Cruz, son Jesse De La Cruz, and granddaughter Yvette Marie De La Cruz. She will be greatly missed by her surviving loving family – daughter Gloria Ramos (husband Miguel Ramos), daughter-in-law Sandra De La Cruz, granddaughter Paula Trigo-Galan (husband Paul Galan), grandson Paul Trigo (wife Elizabeth Trigo), granddaughter Yolanda Garcia, granddaughter Yvonne De La Cruz, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. The majority of her 97 years was filled by lovingly caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a self-taught beautician. Mary enjoyed music, dancing, and going out to have a good time with her friends. She enjoyed sitting on the porch of her home visiting with neighbors. Mary was a huge San Antonio Spurs fan. Her favorite player was #32 Sean Elliott whom she affectionately referred to as her “boyfriend.”

The visitation will be at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5:00pm -9:00pm, with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Monday, August 14, the funeral home opens at 8:00am, the funeral procession will depart at 10:30am for an 11:00am burial at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
