It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Lovejoy announces her sudden passing on March 30, 2025, at the age of 75. Martha was born on September 15, 1949, to Doris and Vernon McKee in Plattsburgh, New York where she grew up with her 12 siblings.
After high school, Martha married the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Gary Lovejoy. She dedicated her life to supporting her husband, an Air Force veteran through many years of service while raising their three children. Martha balanced her roles as a working wife and mother while always creating a warm and loving home. She worked in the food service industry until her retirement from the University of North Dakota in 2012.
Martha was known for her love of family, her kind and generous heart, and enduring faith. She spent her free time baking, cooking, shopping and enjoying quiet evenings at home. We will never forget her love for milk chocolate, word search puzzles, soft cozy sweaters and blankets, and Facebook. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and made every special occasion and holiday a celebration of togetherness.
Martha was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Doris and Vernon, her brother Brian, and her sister Susie. She will be desperately missed and forever loved by her husband, her siblings, her children, Michelle (James) Rose, Gary Lovejoy Jr., and Jennifer (Richard) Gardner, grandchildren Alysha (Tony) Guerrero, Daiquan Gardner, Jordan (Madison) Rose, Michael Lovejoy, Marcus Gardner, Logan Rose, Tristan Lovejoy, Savana Rose, AJ Lockett, Colton Lovejoy and Allison Lovejoy, great grandsons, Maverick, Ryder, and Hayes Guerrero.
Services will be held at Porter Loring West Chapel in San Antonio on April 22, at 12:00pm. A procession to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will follow with a committal service at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or American Cancer Society in her honor.
