Mark led a life filled with love for his family and friends, passion for his interests, and a distinguished career.
Mark's professional journey was notable, having held significant positions such as Manager at HiLo Auto Supply, Assistant Manager – Quality Inspection at New United Motors Manufacturing (NUMMI), and Sr. Manager – Quality Assurance at Toyota Motor Manufacturing-Texas (TMMTX). His work ethic, mentoring, and leadership helped shape the careers of many individuals and friends.
Mark's youth was spent in the Midwest - Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. He completed his higher education at Texas A&M University - College Station, which laid the groundwork for his successful career. Mark's life was filled with joy and enriched by his hobbies, which included gardening, woodworking, enjoying time on his porch, and being a self-proclaimed foodie extraordinaire and mixologist. He was an avid DIYer and outdoor enthusiast, loving motorcycle road trips, jet skiing, lake time, live music, barbequing and hosting gatherings. His love of storytelling and Amazon shopping knew no bounds. Mark's love for his grandchildren and his dogs was evident to all who knew him.
Mark was a man with a robust laugh, a playful smirk, and a big heart. He constantly strived to help everyone achieve their best, both personally and professionally. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Teresa; daughters, Keri (Garrett), Paige and Heidi; two snack-loving grandchildren; father, Marlo; brothers, Bruce (Kris) and Mike (Dana); sister, Robin (Kirk), and a close-knit extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218, on Saturday, October 5th. Public visitation will begin at 12pm with a memorial service at 2pm and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.org, an organization Mark cared deeply about. Mark's legacy of kindness, passion, and love of people will continue to inspire those who knew him.
