I will always remember Mario with that mischievous smile, easy going demeanor and friendliness that comes with an inquisitive personality.  We were close in age, although I was slightly older than he, but our families were close growing up and he remained a lifelong friend. Besides picnics and swim overs on Gramercy, we had so many gatherings at the Madla Family ranch that I’m sure many thought he was another Gonzalez kid! The memories I have of the joyous trips to Madlas with a station wagon loaded with an impossible number of occupants. Attached is proof.

Will forever have fond memories of the Mendiola-Gonzalez families getting together. Of course, the trips to the Madla ranch will stand out as special. Mario, Marco and my younger brothers and sisters were a mischievous bunch who made those trips quite an adventure! Will really miss Mario.

My dear friend Mario RIP. I will miss your phone calls and visits and that great smile. Always a happy fellow you were! We had many great adventures together for almost 50 years. My whole family is sad but will remember you fondly.
