Marian Mildred (Kerinski) Romero was granted her angel wings on January 28th, 2011, at the age of 90. A long time resident of San Antonio, Marian passed away happily and peacefully in her hometown area of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Arriving in life as a Christmas baby to Walter and Catherine Kerinski, in the year of 1920, she was the 6th of 10 children, in the town of Clayton, Missouri. She served her country during the second world-war working in the factories supporting our servicemen in combat. After the war, she and her husband raised a family and traveled the world while supporting her husband’s military career. Marian loved life, traveling, enjoying and participating in the lives of her children, grand children, and great grandchildren. She had a vivacious smile that could light up a room, and could always bring happiness to those around her. Although she was a tiny and frail woman in her last days, her dedication to her quality of existence was a credit to the preciousness of life. Marian is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Joseph Romero. She is survived by her children, Doris and David Powell, Gary Romero, and James and Maria Romero; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her three sisters, Vera Trebilcock, Helen Thacker and Millie Coker. Visitation will take place from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
