Maria Irene Uriegas entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2015, at the age of 60. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Cabrera Uriegas, and sister, Irma Uriegas Rico. Irene is survived by her loving father Ramon Uriegas; nieces and nephews: Jennifer Rico, Raquel Rico, Rene Jesus Rico, Laura Rico, Ana Alicia Juarez (Robert) and Rudy Rico (Isabel); grand nieces and nephew: Matthew, Katelynn, Lily and Emily; and many beloved cousins. She said of her nearly 40 years of work with the Children’s Shelter of San Antonio and DFPS of Texas, “I enjoy helping people and seeing what happens when you take the time to listen and follow through." Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Leo Catholic Church with Interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
