Maria F. Salazar, born on June 9th, 1925 in La Vernia, Texas, went to be with the lord on June 28th, 2020, at the beautiful age of 95. Maria was a founding and devoted member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church for many years. Also,The Guadalupana Society, The Church Altar Society, The Legion of Mary, and The Church Choir.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Aniceto and Juliana Soto, brothers Julian Soto, Pedro Soto, and Roman Soto, sister Cayetana Guzman, granddaughter Claudia Ray, as well as her great granddaughters Rosa Angelica Solis and Victoria Olivarez.
Maria is survived by her children; Jose Francisco (Eva) Salazar, Maria L. Cantu, and Paula (James) Lara, her sister-in-law Anita Soto, her grandchildren Anna Solis, James Lara Jr., Jose Francisco Salazar Jr., Rosaura Luna, Paul Henry Lara, Veronica Olivarez, and Priscilla Shuster, as well as 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and countless other extended family and friends.
The visitation will be held Monday, July 6th, 2020 at 5:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday July 7th, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. for a 12:00 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 747. S.W. 39th St., San Antonio, TX 78237. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Due to the COVID-19 declaration by the City, County, and State officials, this visitation will be enforced and limited to no more than 50 people in the chapel including the Clergy. A face covering will also be required to enter the building. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
