Maria Teresa Mata

Maria Teresa Mata, affectionately known as Tita, born on July 2, 1930 in Ruby, AZ, went to be by the Lord’s side on December 26, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Emilio H. Mata; her 3 daughters, Yolanda Perez & husband Robert Settles, Elsa & husband Richard Mendoza, & Leticia Mata Ochoa; 9 grandchildren, April, Leslie, Vanessa, Bobby, Erica, Richard, Alexis, Austin, & Alyssa; and her great grandson Luke. Viewing & services will be held on Monday Jan 2, 2012 at 6 & 7pm respectively at Iglesia de Dios Central (210 Calles St). Funeral service will be January 3, 2012 at 8:30am at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home (6321 Bandera Rd.), followed by burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10am (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd). Following her burial, a reception in honor of Tita will be held at Iglesia de Dios Mi Refugio (1822 Rivas Street). In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Iglesia de Dios Mi Refugio. Tita truly enjoyed spending time shopping, eating at new restaurants around town, taking care of her potted plants, cooking, and being with her family. She was devoted to her family who she loved deeply. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord & actively participated in her church. She will be deeply missed and had a great impact on those who knew her. Tita was a dedicated Wife, Mother, & Memo who will live in her loved ones hearts forever.
