Maria Esther Garza, age 81, passed away January 6, 2015. Ma. Esther was a seamstress when she moved from Monterrey, Mexico at the age of 23 to join her husband Ezequiel G. Garza to live in the United States. She continued to sew throughout her life and enjoyed spending her days gardening as well. She was very proud to become a US citizen on January 21, 1999.
She leaves us now again to join Ezequiel to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. She is survived by their children: Silvestre and wife Kathleen, Raquel and partner Victor Zavala, Esequiel Jr. and partner Larry Duron, and Maria De Los Angeles and husband Felipe; her sister Teresa and brother Enrique; grandchildren: Silvestre L and wife Claudia, Veronica and husband Michael, David, Monica and partner Lupe, Emily Cervantes and husband Michael, Gilbert and Alexis; great grandchildren: Caitlin, Rebecca, Brianna, Nathan, Jenalisa, Heavenly, Isaiah and Christian.
Anita Delgado provided loving, daily care for our Mother. We are extremely grateful for all she has done for her and our family.
We are grateful for all the neighbors and friends who have helped and loved her through this difficult time. They have been a great comfort and a blessing to the family.
The family also expresses their sincere gratitude to all the staff and nurses of Alamo Hospice who provided exceptionally compassionate care for her over the past year and a half.
The family will be receiving guests at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate a 10:00 Mass at St. James Catholic Church, 907 W.
