Maria Carolina "Carrie" Dominguez, age 81, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 30, 1942 to Jesus and Maria Guadalupe Salazar. Carrie deeply cared for her community. She volunteered at the Sunshine Cottage School for the Deaf; she was also a member of the Parent-teacher association. In addition she would also be a Girl Scout Troop Mother, and a member of St. Margaret Mary's Mother's Club.
Carrie attended Fox Tech High; she was a member of the Science Club and member of the Red Jackets. She loved spending her time reading and cross-stitching. Carrie retired from Sam's Club as a door greeter.
Carrie will be united in heaven by her parents Jesus and Maria Guadalupe Salazar; Valentin and Maria Cleofas Tijerina (father and mother-in-law); Joe Dominguez Jr. (Son); Pete Torres (Son-in-law), Raymond Tijerina (brother-in-law).
Carrie’s memory will forever live in the hearts of her husband Joe Dominguez; Victoria Dominguez(Daughter; Catherine Torres-Klima (daughter), Brian Klima (son-in-law); Yvonne Dominguez (daughter); grandchildren Michelle Ochoa, Bonnie Ochoa, Katelyn Tay Klima; great grandchild Matt Ortiz; sister Janie Chavez; Brothers George Salazar, Juan Salazar; sister-in-law Clara Salazar; In-laws Rosalinda Tijerina; Susan Tijerina; Noel and Rosa Rios, and Mary Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The following family members will be assisting as pallbearers John Salazar Jr., Sean Salazar, George Salazar Jr., Chris De La Cruz, Michelle Ochoa, Bonnie Ochoa, Brian Klima; and Juan Salazar.
Carrie will be missed by those who knew her.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A religious ceremony will occur Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Resurrection of the Lord, 7990 Military Dr W, San Antonio, TX 78227. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 1:45 PM to 2:05 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
The family would like to extend an invitation to all for a reception following the graveside service at The Resurrection of The Lord Church.
