Lorraine was born and spent her early childhood on her grandfather's farm in Hunterstown PA. She loved the animals and wide-open spaces of the 200-acre farm where she loved to go exploring. The depression years forced the family to move to Glenolden PA in search of work. Lorraine loved music and learned to play the piano, mandolin, and violin and was a member of her high school orchestra. After graduation, Lorraine went to work at Wyeth during the war years, and worked her way up to becoming the plant superintendent's secretary. She met the love of her life, Henry Wayne at Wyeth's and eventually married on January 8th,1951 and moved with him to Mexico City where he was working. Lorraine and Wayne loved the climate, culture, and diversity of nationalities in Mexico City, and were active members of the Eastern Star, Shriner's, and the Cosmopolitan club. They spent 22 years together in Mexico with a brief move to Puerto Rico for Wayne's work before returning. After her husband Wayne tragically passed away in August of 1970, Lorraine moved to San Antonio, Texas where she and Wayne had spent many vacations and had fallen in love with the city. Lorraine was always active in her community and church. She spent many hours sewing quilts for church sales, helping deliver Meals on Wheels, and volunteering at the local polling stations during elections. She loved her family and grandchildren and showered them with love and affection, taught them how to cook, play music and play different sports. She enjoyed cooking and preparing family meals on weekends and holidays. All of her life Lorraine had a positive outlook on life which was an inspiration to all who knew her.
