Manuel V. Gallardo, Sr.

Manuel V. Gallardo, Sr. born September 6, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas went to be with our Lord on April 4, 2018 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by parents, Jesus and Candida Gallardo; beloved wife of 50 years, Olivia A. Gallardo; son, Manuel A. Gallardo, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Maria Gallardo. He is survived by his loving children, Olivia Rangel (Isidro), Jesusita “Susie” Montez (Joseph), Paul Gallardo (Eloisa), Alice Luna (Trini Cruz), Rick Gallardo (Yolanda Trigo-Gallardo), Charlie Gallardo (Adelaida Fuentes), Diana Montemayor (Joe), Veronica Starks (Jon), Virginia Gonzales (Joey), Gabriel Gallardo (Debbie), and Mike Gallardo (Laura). Manuel is also survived by his 34 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and his loving puppies Daisy, Molly and Max.

Manuel, beloved father, great grandfather and great-great grandfather loved his family dearly, he always wanted a big family due to him being an only child and he wanted the best for his children. He was a construction worker who also enjoyed woodworking, drawing his favorite antique cars and watching old gangster movies. He was known for having the best yard on the block, an excellent gardener having blooming roses of every color and also for his love of listening and playing conjunto music on his bajo sexto guitar. He was a funny down to earth man with a big heart and had the greatest love for coffee, pan dulce and conversation.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at San Fernando II Cemetery.
