SSGT Manuel Barrera, 98, born on June 17, 1914 went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2012. He was a 30 year U.S. Army Veteran who served in three wars. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Virginia Z. Barrera; 9 children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm on Monday, November 12, 2012 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Ft. Sam Houston Main Post Chapel, 1605 Wilson Way, 78234. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
