

Mal Schiller, age 89, passed away on April 22, 2020. He was born in Elgin, Texas on November 21, 1930. Mal was a beloved father, and grandfather and a pillar in his community who will be dearly missed.
Mal volunteered his time to providing leadership and guidance to youth through the Boy Scouts of America for 34 years in the capacity of Troop Master for Troop 259 in Kirby, TX and as a member of the Alamo Area Council International Scout Committee. He also volunteered his time to helping another part of the community through the Senior Center of Kirby, TX. for several years after his retirement.
Mal was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Eloise Schiller; his son, Scott Schiller; and his sisters, Rosalee Schiller and Lucille Langston.
He is survived by his children, Melissa Vázquez and husband Alex Vázquez; his grandchildren, Josh, Indiana, and Shania; his daughter Karen Schiller and her wife Sarah Loron; his sister, Geraldine Farr; his personal caregivers of many years Rose Vázquez and Lucha Vázquez and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. on Monday April 27 at 2:00 PM A Memorial Service will be held on a later date.
