Lydia H. Perez, 93, of San Antonio, TX, born September 15, 1927 moved on to eternal life on October 21,2020. She has joined her loving husband, Alfredo, 1st granddaughter Angelita, parents Ysabel & Winiberto, brothers, Gilberto, Fidel, Fernando, Wilfredo, Esteban, Roberto & sister Mariselda in heaven.
Lydia married Alfredo M. Perez on September 23, 1948 and began their wonderful life together. Her greatest accomplished goal was to have a family. She is survived by eight children, Adelina (Gilbert), Albert (Cris), MariaElena (Mike), Mariselda (Eric), Robert (Gina), Alfred (Cindy), Martin Peter (Trish), Patricia Ann (Rich), 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her sister Rebecca, her brother Ysrael (Sulema), sisters-in-law Josefina & Rosa, brother-in-law Guadalupe. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, close family neighbors & cherished friends.
Lydia entered this world in Boling, TX. Lived her young life in Yorktown, TX. Throughout her lifetime she was a woman of strong faith. She loved to read her bible. Some of her favorite scriptures were Psalm 121, Psalm 23 & John 14: 1-7. Lydia was one of the founding members of San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. She loved being a part of the Guadalupanas, Catechumenados & Ministry to the sick, as well as taking part in the annual church Jamaicas. Most of all she loved helping others and making them know they are someone special to God. Knowing she was special to God she wrote “Todas mis Alegrías y todas mis penas se las debo a Dios, él sufrió por mi. Sin merecerlo me dio su amor y perdón. Los quiero mucho a todos siempre. Su Madre - Lydia.”
Lydia lived through segregation, the depression, ‘las piscas’, many wars, the measles, polio, flus, covid-19, etc. All along still singing ‘What a wonderful world’ because she had a wonderful heart and sweet spirit. Lydia left a life legacy of Strong Faith (Hebrews 11), Unconditional Love and Abundant Grace. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her love will live in our lives forever!
Due to the Covid-19 declaration by the City, County and State officials only 50 guests will be allowed in the chapel & only 60 guests will be allowed in the church.
Facial coverings are required at all times. Social distancing needs to be practiced, as well.
