She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and adoring grandmother to her loving granddaughter, Victoria.
As a young woman, she was a member of several social clubs, and very involved in the community. Lydia taught several classes at the YMCA and mentored many children by fostering a love for learning and knowledge.
One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as the only woman on the Board of Directors at Mission Federal Savings & Loan in San Antonio.
Lydia is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Rodriguez, step-father, Tomas Cano, and her husband, John L. Campos.
She is survived by her daughter, Candace Kenton, M.D. and husband, Alexander Kenton, M.D.; son, Jon Cabot Campos; her mother, Margaret Cano of Houston; loving granddaughter, Victoria Alexandra Kenton; sister, Debbie Rice and husband, Larry of Houston; brother, Lawrence "Sonny" Rodriguez of Kerrville; brother, Tommy O. Cano, of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.
