Our beautiful, beloved mother, Lupe H. Trejo, 96, passed away peacefully in her home on January 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Lupe was born on November 3, 1927, in Castroville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad and Teofilo Hernandez and beloved husband Adrian V. Trejo. She is survived by hers sons: Adrian Trejo Jr., Rey Trejo (Sandra), Robert Trejo (Nora), and Jesse Trejo (Joanna), and her daughters: Anita Diaz (Richard), Lucia Hernandez (Frank), Lupita Ruiz (Joe), Maria Trejo, Rosario Castillo (Alfred), Terry Trejo, Elena Molina (George) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She spent most of her life in San Antonio where she devoted her time to her family and her home. Lupe was a dedicated member of Holy Family Catholic Church and volunteered her services for many years. She had great devotion to the Virgen de Guadalupe and was diligent about praying her rosary nightly.
Lupe was selfless, she always put her family before herself. She was never the kind of person to just sit down and relax. She always made sure her house was spotless on the inside and out. She loved to be outside, taking care of her yard, and plants, especially her roses. There was never a leaf in sight...EVER! If she was sitting down, it was on the front porch, on the bench, drinking her coffee, enjoying the sun.
One of the things she enjoyed and looked forward to was dressing up every Sunday, going to the flea market to listen to conjunto bands and dancing. She also enjoyed watching novellas, old western movies, and the TV channel, Lifetime.
Lupe had so much love in her heart for others and everyone loved her just as much. There aren't enough words to express the impact she left behind and the lives she touched. Her voice will forever echo in memories we hold, her smile will warm us through stories retold. Her love will touch us in spirit each day. Her life will be treasured beautifully forever. She was so many great things, but if you ask anyone what word would describe her, the answer would be STRONG. Lupe was the strongest person in our entire world, she was our Wonder Woman!
