Lucy M. Lacsamana, aged 91, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 21, 2024. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Lucy met the love of her life, Daniel, in high school. Their journey of love and commitment spanned 38 years until Daniel's passing. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her son Daniel, Jr., her parents Aurelio and Florence Ortegon, and her siblings Florence, Raquel, Margaret, Viola, Aurelio Jr., Robert, and Rose Rita.
Lucy leaves behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her children: Vincent Lacsamana of Tucson, AZ; Barbara Weidman (Tony) of Birmingham, AL; Helen Lacsamana of Nashville, TN; Felicia Blue of San Antonio, TX; Danette Kerestes of Wellsboro, PA; Desiree McCormick of Round Rock, TX; Denise Lacsamana of Muskegon, MI; Regina Smith (Cary) of Phoenix, AZ; and Angela Lacsamana, also of San Antonio, TX. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Nicholas, Andrew, Diedra, Daniel, Andrea, Che, Jasmine, Annabelle, Adrienne, and Zoe, as well as her great-grandchildren Henry, Penny, Arthur, Aiden, and Bryson. She also leaves behind her sister Vivian, sister-in-law Lee, brother-in-law Bob (Belen), numerous nieces and nephews, and an extensive family network that spans generations.
Lucy was a beacon of strength, resilience, and love. Her life exemplified unwavering support for her family, especially through the challenges of military life, embodying the virtues of the Proverbs 31: Woman—strong, noble, and endlessly virtuous. Her legacy of unconditional love and the profound influence she had on so many lives will endure.

A visitation for Lucy will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232, with a rosary & vigil from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251. A committal service will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity close to Lucy's heart (Food Bank, Project Cool and Stuff the Bus), continuing her legacy of giving and support.
Lucy's remarkable journey through life, marked by love, dedication, and service, leaves an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her story is not just one of loss but a celebration of a life well-lived, inspiring all of us to live with kindness, resilience, and love.
