Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Lorenzo F. Castillo, Sr. (Lencho) age 85, entered the kingdom of heaven on May 30, 2012 surrounded by loving and caring family members at his side after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Baytown, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge. He served in the European Campaign in Germany, France, and did a tour of duty in the Philippines and Japan. He was also employed for the City of San Antonio (Environmental Services Department) for 33-1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his mother; Patricia Segura; sisters, Nicholasa Gonzalez, Virginia Gonzalez and brother, Santos Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife, of 66 years, Maria Q. Castillo; daughters; Eudelia Q. Castillo; Beatrice C. Alfrido and husband Andrew Alfrido; Angelina C. Hinojosa and husband Miguel Hinojosa, Jr.; son, Lorenzo F. Castillo, Jr.; brothers; Joe Lorenzo Castillo, Isidro Martinez, and Raul Segura; sisters, Janie Dale, Dolores Mujica and husband Salvador Mujica; also 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The Castillo Family would like to thank the nurses, CNA and staff at Compassus Hospice, and Dr. Daniel Hyun for the loving care shown to Lorenzo, and also thank friends and family for their prayers and support. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 05, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 06, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
