Lorenza (Lupe) Rodriguez Wilson was born August 17, 1951 in Durango, Mexico. She was the daughter to single mother, Teresa Morales and was raised by her grandparents, Julia Morales and Juan Montiel and later by her aunt, Maria Elena Rosario. She got her wings on April 03, 2021 at Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas surrounded by her three children after a two-month battle with complications of Covid-19.
Better known as “Lupe” after Our Lady of Guadalupe.” Lupe was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and niece who adorned her family. She demonstrated strength and courage overcoming many difficult life events that would make the average individual give up. Just as Our Lady of Guadalupe is known to provide protection and assistance to those in need. Lupe was a caregiver to anyone in need. She was a protector, ready and willing to defend those needing protection. She was a warrior to her family and demonstrated how to work hard in order to provide for our family. She had an amazing way of making everyone feel equally special and loved just the same.
Lupe began her career in food service for the United States Army while living in Germany. She continued to work in food service as a Chef at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course in Seal Beach, California where she took pride in cooking for servicemen and their families. Lupe enjoyed the look of happiness on the faces of people she served after eating meals that she prepared.
Lupe met and married Eddie Lee Wilson on May 25, 1970. Together they raised three children. Those three children were her absolute pride and joy along with her grandchildren. Wherever they were she wanted to be. She was involved in their education and sports activities. She spent quality time with her children and grandchildren often beating them in a game of Rummy. She dedicated her life to them. Making sure they were loved and cared for. She always put their needs before her own. Lupe was a diehard Clippers and Dallas Cowboys fans. She would watch the games and yell at the players as if she was their coach.
Lupe is survived by her sons, Eddie Lee Wilson Jr. and David Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and daughter, Virginia Roberts-Wilson of San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by her two daughters-in-law: LaToya Roberts-Wilson of San Antonio, Texas and Josefina Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada. She has five grandchildren: Jordan Anthony Wilson, Sheriah Danielle Wilson, Jazzmen Washington, Dionte Jarmari Gardner and Destiny Keimoni Wilson, whom she cherished. She has two special adopted granddaughters: Roxie Elaine Reyna and Stephanie Rodriguez. Lupe was excited about the news that her two great grandchildren, Josiah Anthony Wilson, and Sunnai Mackenzie Simmons, are to be born this July. Lupe is also survived by her aunt Estella Alvarez, brothers, Juan Brown and Jorge Rodriguez and sisters, Nelly Osario, Carmen Galeas, and Julia Rosario as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her husband, her grandparents, her aunt Maria, and her two beloved dogs Brandy and Breanna preceded her in death.
