She attended Marshall High School and married William Edwin Lee on 4-3-1948. They moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1951 when Bill joined the USAF. While living there, her daughter Deborah Dawn, was born on 10-30-1957.
In 1958, Grace and Bill moved to San Antonio, Texas where they lived together until 1980. Grace stayed in San Antonio until 2003 and then relocated to the coastal town of Rockport, Texas. She loved most aspects about Rockport because she had dear friend like Pat and Dora McKelvey. She did not like the worries she had about hurricanes though and dreaded that time of year.
Bill and Grace were avid square dancers for many years and were valued members of the Grand Lodge, Sons of Hermann since 1963.
Grace had various employers in her career some being Gandy's Creamery, Westinghouse, RCA, and Interstate Electric which were some of the longest running employers. And as an executive secretary she always tried and succeeded in organizing her bosses schedules and activities in every detail. Her last employer was Alamo Leather in San Antonio which was owned by dear friends Don and Sharon Ervin and Tim and Amy Cain. They enjoyed working together and shared many fond memories through those years.
In her retirement years Grace loved to go on Carnival Cruises with her dear friend Johnny Pavone and family and friends. She went on over 20 cruises mostly to the Caribbean and Mexico. She also loved her Silver Sneakers class in Rockport which she attended everyday unless she was out of town.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie and her husband, Steve Pratt. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband, Derik Mahan and their son, Connor and daughter, Keeley. In addition, surviving Grace are her beloved nieces, Judy Yocum and her husband, Bill of Boerne, Texas and Virginia Williams of West Terre Haute, Indiana.
