Lora Lee Lakey Birdwell

Lora Lee Birdwell, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, entered rest on January 17, 2011 at the age of 85. She was born in Seguin, Texas to Andrew and Ruby Lakey on January 18, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Curtis Birdwell, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris and husband Raymond Spahn; brother, Bobby Lakey; in-laws, Gwen and Jack Hartzell and Bud Ronshausen. She is survived by her son, Bill Birdwell and wife Lynette; grandchildren, Jason and Amy Birdwell; brother, Buddy Lakey and wife Ella; sister, Edna Ronshausen; sister-in-law, Mary Lakey and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her love of travel and the outdoors. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Roy Akers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 also at the funeral home with Pastor Jennifer Gold officiating. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery.
