Lisa was born October 3, 1963 in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Her father was in the military. So of course, she relocated numerous times growing up. She moved to San Antonio in the early 80’s. While she moved several times after that, she always made her way back to her San Antonio home.
Lisa loved caring for people, especially the elderly, and worked many years as a certified caregiver and medical assistant. In the early 90’s, Lisa made a dramatic career change (so very like Lisa) and worked for many years with City Public Service as the first female linesman. She took great pride in her ability to “keep up with the boys”.
One of Lisa’s greatest passions was her love of animals. Over the years, she rescued and adopted numerous dogs and cats…many at the same time. Just recently she rescued Charlotte, “Charlie”, whom she was training to be her support dog. We know she is rejoicing being reunited with many of her pets already in Heaven.
Lisa’s daughter Laura and granddaughter Samantha were the lights of her life. She adored them both. From birth until preschool, Lisa was able to care for Samantha while her parents worked. Samantha loved her “Wawa” dearly. Lisa cherished those years and the precious time she was able to spend with Samantha.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Chad Mangum; granddaughter Samantha; step-grandsons Ian and Evan; mother, Marion Rogers, brother and sister-in-law John “Matt” and Connie Rogers; sister Laura Rogers; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Kyle Esmonde; niece and nephews Julie Eiland, Jeff Rogers, Steve Esmonde, Beau Esmonde, Jack Esmonde, and 7 great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, BG (Ret) John E. Rogers.
A private family ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.
