Lisa Gonzales Ortiz was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 11, 1972 to Rudy and Martha Gonzales. Lisa entered into rest on January 31, 2017. She attended South San High School and graduated from Concordia College in Austin Texas. Lisa, soon after graduating, was hired by the State of Texas and started to work for Child Protective Services. Lisa, for 19 years worked for the agency and made many lifelong friendships and touched many lives. Lisa is survived by her husband Jim Ortiz and two beautiful daughters, Mia Katlyn Soto and Madelyn Alyse Soto, Father Rudy Gonzales and Mother Martha Lopez, Sisters Laurie Gonzales, Ruby Gonzales and Niece Hailey Gonzales, also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins . She is preceded in death by her grandparents Jose Gonzales and Martha Gonzales, and Uncle Joe "Nune" Gonzales. Anybody who knew Lisa knew she was a dedicated mother to her two daughters and a loving sister. She was a daughter who was dedicated to her parents who she loved very much. She was a loving wife to her husband. Most of all Lisa was loved by all who met her, her infectious smile and personality made everybody so comfortable around her. She was loved and received love in return. The Gonzales and Ortiz family's wish give special thanks to the Start Center of san Antonio for their compassionate and caring hand of healing they extended to Lisa. We would also like to thank Dr. Amy Lang, Rose Obrien RN and Rachel Solis RN for their caring and understanding care they delivered to Lisa. Also we would like to thank her co-workers at DFPS and all of you for your kind words and understanding during this difficult period. Also a special thank you to Tim Gebel for all of your understanding over these two years, without your understanding and compassion for Lisa the two years would have been much more stressful than they already were, thank you Tim. We would also like to thank all the staff at Main Methodist hospital for the compassionate care that was given to Lisa. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to celebrate our Lisa, we did not lose Lisa because when you lose something you can't find it, we know exactly where our Lisa is, she is in heaven. Visitation will begin on Monday February 6, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers from 12pm to 9pm with a prayer service at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Westover Hills Assembly of God, 9340 Westover Hills Blvd San Antonio, TX 78251 at 1pm. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park.
