Airman First Class Lindsey Renee Gumban passed away at the age of 21 while serving in the United States Air Force. She was born on September 29, 1997 in San Antonio, TX to Air Force Master Sergeant Edwin and Army Captain Joni Gumban. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Army Sergeant First Class Ernest Gumban, Sr., and Air Force Master Sergeant Samuel Sollami and his wife Patricia. She is survived by her loving parents; brother: Samuel Gumban; sister: Amanda Gumban; uncles: Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Sollami, Air Force Staff Sergeant David Sollami, Army Sergeant Ernest Gumban, Jr., Marine Sergeant Eric Gumban; aunt: Ellen Gumban Brown, wife of Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Donald Brown; grandmother: Elisa Gumban; cousins: Jackie Brown Powell, Leah Brown, Elli Gumban and Eric Gumban, Jr., and numerous family members and friends. Lindsey was the first-born and the apple of her parent’s eyes. She was an independent, and happy beautiful person who adored every person in her immediate and extended family dearly. She had a passion for caring for the sick and for those in need. She followed her family’s tradition of Military service to her country and enlisted in the Air Force where she worked in the Cyber Security field while she began pursuing her dream of becoming an Air Force nurse in the medical field. Lindsey was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. She will be missed dearly. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest Dr., San Antonio, TX 78209 with interment Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Wound Warriors Project.
