Lili Thrailkill was the second born child who made her entrance October 9, 1931, in San Antonio to Freddie Stafford Doehne and Bernhardt William Doehne. She was raised in San Antonio and attended public schools. Upon graduating from Jefferson High School, she attended and graduated from Trinity University.
Lili was a longtime employee as Head of Committee Affairs at the Bexar County Medical Society. Lili was witty, funny, had a propensity for issuing zingers and a big heart. She played bridge and was never happier than when she rode her beloved palomino, Jole Oro.
She was the great granddaughter of German settlers in Comal County and the great, great granddaughter of English emigrants from Staffordshire, England. Lili was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lili is predeceased by her parents; Older brother Louis C. Doehne; oldest daughter Kathleen Elaine Thrailkill; sister-in-law Dorothy Pfeiffer Doehne; aunts Ella Doehne Auge and Vera Stafford Stoker of San Antonio; Uncle J.D. Stafford of Austin, Robinson Stafford Holmes of Port Arthur; Uncle Fred Doehne of Corpus Christi; and special cousin Jenny Vee Garven.
She is survived by her younger daughter, Sherri Vee Thrailkill, who lovingly cared for her during the five years she was ill; favorite niece, Nancy Doehne Tropoli of Houston; and nephew, Mark Wayland Doehne (Margot) of San Antonio; cousin, Lloyd Stafford of Ft. Belvoir, VA; and cousins, Gaynell Doehne, and Linda Doehne of Austin.
