He was born July 18, 1937, in Hannibal, Missouri. He retired from the United States Air Force, where he held the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement from the Air Force, he completed his education at The University of Texas in San Antonio and achieved his master’s degree in World History. He later worked in the hospitality industry and ended that career in 2003 as maître at Club Giraud. His favorite pastimes were cooking, reading novels, playing his guitar, and watching classic old movies. Although a stern and discipline military man he was also humorous and a true jovial spirit to all.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, married for 38 years; and children, Michael (wife Janice), Sean (wife Heather), Bradley (wife Alicia), and Matthew. Along with his sons, he leaves numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone within Vitas Hospice and Safe Home Homecare, who provided exceptional care during his end-of-life care. We greatly appreciate both the practical and emotional support provided during this period.
In accordance with his wishes, Tom will be cremated and later, his ashes spread in Hannibal, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232. Accepting guests at 11:00 am with a 12:00 noon service. Military honors will be presented promptly at 12:00 pm with a Rosary and Funeral to follow.
