He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 12, 1948. Larry graduated from Monterey High School in California, and later received a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University after serving in the United States Army. He worked earnestly as a comptroller and accountant for multiple small businesses throughout his career, and also started a small business with his wife in his “retirement” years.
He was married to his beloved wife Lynda “Scotty” Stanley for over 30 years. They shared many wonderful memories together while living in San Antonio and New Braunfels, and had a special unbreakable bond. Larry was a passionate golfer, often making golf clubs for himself and others, and enjoyed the camaraderie of a day on the links. He also loved dogs and always had a furry friend to care for. His caring nature was evident in all aspects of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda, sons Gregory Stanley and Brett Keith, and grandchildren Ainsley, Chase, Gray, and Ascher Stanley, Devon and Brielle Covington, and Connor Keith; sister-in-law Dotti Stanley, nephews Bill Stanley (Kathy), Bruce Stanley (Stacie), and niece Jean Wingard (Mark). He is preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Beulah Stanley, and brother Jeff Stanley.
A memorial service will be held April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home. A Facebook Live broadcast will be available. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory can be made to the Animal Defense League of Texas.
