Lawrence C. Hernandez, born in San Antonio, Texas, on October 19, 1955, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2020. He was known by his friends and family as Larry or Larry Boy. He grew up in Von Ormy, where he played football and graduated from Southwest High School. He was a loving son, brother, devoted husband, father, and the best PoPo ever! His love for music was only surpassed by his love for his family. Larry could pack a dancehall with family, fans, and friends, playing music for more than 40 years. On stage his talent, charm, and character were as large as his black cowboy hat. He loved horses and rode with the Laredo Trail Ride, where he met his beloved wife. He worked Civil Service for 30 years and retired from Lackland. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. After retirement he loved to travel with his wife, spend as much time as possible with his kids and grandkids, join in a friendly family poker game at his dad's house, and of course hanging out at the casinos. He was preceded in death by his mother, Oralia Hernandez. Larry is survived by his father: Lawrence Q. Hernandez; his beloved wife: CJ Hernandez; his incredible children: Nick Hernandez (Ashleigh), Lauren Saldana (Robby), Jerad Hernandez (Elisa), and stepdaughter: Amber Wyatt (Alvino); his wonderful grandkids: Rylen Saldana, Daylen Saldana, Reed Hernandez, Chloe Saldana, and Alice Hernandez, as well as his step granddaughter, Alexis, and step great granddaughter, Adrianna. He is also survived by his sisters: Julia Hernandez, Martha "Marty" Hernandez, Linda Jimenez, Mary Lydia Martinez, and Gloria Eberhardt; and his brothers: Richard "Dicky" Hernandez and Jerry Hernandez; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Nick Hernandez, Jerad Hernandez, BJ Chacon, Shaun Ramirez, and Robby Saldana.
