Larry was a proud to serve our country in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst from 1961 to 1965, he was 5th Special Forces Group, Airborne, Vietnam. During his time in the Army he received the Army Commendation Medal and Expert Rifle. After his time in the Army he went to school for his teaching degree. Larry found himself teaching in one capacity or another all his life, even if it wasn’t in a formal classroom. He took great satisfaction in making something with his two hands a satisfaction that was hard to explain to someone that never had done it. One of the noblest things Larry did was pass on his knowledge to someone, he believed that teaching someone something how to do something was the nobles things one human could do for another. This is why he chose to specialize in Industrial Arts.
Larry was diverse in many different student and teaching populations. He had extensive experience with special needs students, which takes a big heart and special soul. He know how to develop that inter personal student/teacher rapport with all them. He also worked with Eskimo, Native American, African-American, Hispanic, and learning disabled students. Larry had a knowledge and wisdom to work with all students. He also had welding and metalwork experience.
In 2006, Larry retired for Floresville ISD. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Larry will be greatly missed and remembered. For online condolences please visit www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
