Kevin Paul Collins, son of Glen Paul Collins and Carolyn Wilson (Collins) Parinello, died peacefully on January 13, 2021, at his home in San Antonio, Texas. Born in San Antonio, TX, Kevin also lived in Houma, LA, Morgan City, LA and Lafayette, LA. Kevin attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in San Antonio, TX, St. Bernadette Catholic School and Broadmoor Elementary School in Houma, LA and Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, LA. In his 42 years, Kevin enjoyed a myriad of interests. He loved Marshall Arts and soared to achieve a black belt in Tae Kwando. He brought glory to his high school football team, debate team, free enterprise club and was selected senior class president. Kevin earned degrees in both Political Science and in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Louisiana. He was a staunch believer in justice, human rights and the power of positivity. He served honorably as a Deputy Sheriff with the Terrebonne Parish Sherriff’s Department and went on to become a private investigator for independent agencies. Everything he did, he did it with conscientious commitment, dedicated determinism and outgoing optimism. Kevin’s keen wit and sweet smile lit up the room. He loved current events and could always give a historical perspective to politics. Whenever he enjoyed a TV crime show, he always knew “who did it” within the first fifteen minutes of the movie. He loved comedy, music woodworking, poker, MMA, and cheered his forever favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints, toward the Super bowl in every game they played. Kevin loved his family intensely, cherished his friends, helped everyone he could in any way he could whenever he sensed a need. His premature passing leaves a deep hole in the hearts of all who loved him beyond what words can describe. Kevin is survived by his mother, Carolyn Parinello, his sisters Amie Collins McTavish and Suzanne Michelle Collins, brother-in-law Rene Quintanilla, his nieces Sydney McTavish, Allie McTavish, and Marley Braly, his stepmother Marion Collins of Morgan City, LA, step brother and step sister-in-law Jeff and Nicole Streva and step nephew Jordan Streva of Morgan City, LA., also, his uncles and aunts, Speedy and Jean Collins, Tommy and Margie Collins, numerous cousins as well as godparents Judy Berry and Norbert Gonzales, Jr. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved father, Glen Paul Collins.
