Kenneth Hicks

Kenneth Wayne Hicks passed away to be with our lord on February 24, 2023. He was born to Ford and Mary Ann Hicks on July 7th, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas. He attended grade school and Junior high in Mt. Hope, Kansas. He graduated from Haven High School in Haven, Kansas in 1977. He played golf in high school and continued to play and admire the game throughout his life. He pursued a career in construction management with residential homes meeting incredible coworkers and friends. He finished his career with Bellaire Homes.

Ken married Susan Mary Batey in August of 1994 and took on a son, Colten Ray Batey, at that time. They then had a daughter, Kristin Rene Hicks, on March 2, 1996. The four of them built a life filled with family memories including vacations to Walt Disney World, ski trips, and beach trips. Ken was instrumental in teaching each child how to ride a bike, drive a car, change a tire, and treat people with love and respect.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, even when they struggled. Which was often during his lifetime. He was also an antique sign and memorabilia collector.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ford and Mary Ann. He is survived in death by his son Colten and wife, Melanie; daughter Kristin; his sister Diane and husband Roger; grandchildren Kaylee and Brynlee; niece Allyson; and nephew Samuel and wife Maegan.

Ken will be missed by all, especially his family, but he will always be loved and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you send a donation to the American Heart Association in honor of Ken Hicks.
