Born in Peoria, Arizona, to Ella Mae (Kee) and J.C. Baker, the family soon moved to Odessa, Texas, where Kenneth played high school football and competed on the Track & Field Team. His senior year, he decided to join the Navy to see the world.
Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Kenneth returned home and began working in the oil field industry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman whose adventures brought home an elk, two Boone & Crockett deer, and the bear that showed up and tried to claim the deer. Such a beautiful rug.
Kenneth married Louise in 1978. Over the course of his 47-year career as Plant Manager of an oil-pipe Coating & Inspection company, they relocated to Corpus Christi to supervise the building of a new plant and then moved to Houston where he retired in 2000.
Kenneth and Louise lived an active retirement in San Antonio; vacationing, gardening, restoring a 1955 Chevy, hosting family gatherings, and being members of Christ Fellowship Church.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished the time spent with family, always offering guidance, support and unconditional love.
A wonderful man, the nicest person; his wisdom and kindness left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Baker; and daughter, Vicki Joy Garrett. He is survived by his wife, Louise; daughters, Diane (John) Karnafel, Judy (Jurek) Ozarowski, and Mitzi (Eric) Wise; son, Roger Keith Baker; and 23 grandchildren.
