Kathryn Sue Bennett

Kathryn “Sue” Bennett was born on November 28, 1934 to Catherine and Al Harris of San Angelo, TX. She passed away at home on December 11, 2023 at the age of 89. Sue was predeceased by both of her parents; her husband, Ray, of 60 years and one grandchild, Benjamin Tamayo. She is survived by her four children: David Bennett and wife Ann of East Hampton, NY; Dr. Brian Bennett and wife Miriam of Ft. Worth, TX; Karen Tamayo and husband Greg of Marietta, GA; Charles Bennett and wife Vicky of Warne, NC; and a sister Joal Donovan of Prescott, AZ. Sue is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Jonathan Bennett (Amanda), Jennifer Halvorsen (Aaron), David Bennett (Nadine), Diana Barrett (Ryan), Christine Bennett, Anna Ilaria (Nick), Joshua Tamayo (April), Aaron Tamayo (Kelly), Morgan Tamayo, Nicholas Bennett (Lori), Joseph Bennett, and Daniel Bennett; and 9 great-grandchildren: Brayden and Jacob Bennett, Evelyn and Silas Halvorsen, Madeline Barrett, Olivia Bennett, Donaca, Lily and Connor Tamayo.

Sue was a graduate of the University of Texas and a long time member of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church in Austin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and playing card and board games with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Pavilion #1) in San Antonio, TX on December 21, 2023 at 10:00 in the morning. For directions call Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 210-820-3891.
