JUSTIN REY MARTINEZ born October 25, 1991 in San Antonio, TX went home to be with the Lord October 8, 2018 at the young age of 26 years.
Justin was our Rainbow Baby and from the day he was born he would come to meet life head on and impact the lives of countless individuals.
His illness did not define Justin , it made him resilient, strong, courageous, and fought every day to meet the many challenges placed before him. He endured countless doctor visits, extended hospital stays, complicated surgeries and his ability to walk at a young age. But his many limitations never kept him from living a full life. He traveled to the West Coast dipped in the Pacific Ocean, the East coast from Florida to New York. Rode the Misty Maiden in Niagra Falls, and deep sea fishing the gulf waters. And although he was not able to carry on the tradition of his Father’s profession, as a firefighter, he became the Number 1 fan for San Antonio Firefighters and others across the country and in Canada.
Words expressed about Justin…”lived life to the fullest, always concerned and asking how are you doing?, a brother, a true friend, an inspiration. Thank you for teaching us to never lose faith, taught me to live life to the fullest, a legend, a true warrior, strong and courageous, inspirational soul, heart of gold. I wish I had half your passion, your faith, but mostly your will to live.
Our lives are forever altered by the loss of our precious Justin but enriched by the love we shared, his unshakeable faith, and his love of family and life. He will live on forever in our hearts.
Justin’s life journey was helped by many medical professionals throughout the years. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Arturo Lopez, who left no stone unturned. His compassionate medical team and staff.
