Beloved mother to her children; Robert (Rosemary), Belinda, Carmen (Abel, Sr.), Patricia (Paul), and Stella.
Dearest Meemaw to her grandchildren; Matthew, Abel, Jr. (Shea), Jamie (Kenneth), Robert Gabriel, Michelle (Danny), Aaron (Sandi), Elena (Andrew), and Brianna, along with 14 great grandchildren.
Cherished sister to Maria Garcia and family.
She is preceded in death by her devout husband, Roberto, parents Severo and Celestina Alaniz and the loving parents who raised her; Tomas and Gertrude Rodrigues, her siblings; Brigido and Juan Alaniz, Augustina Gonzales, her daughter Maria Elena, grandson Joe-Ed, and great grandson Ian Luke.
Native of Kenedy, Texas born on October 20, 1930. She and Roberto married in 1950 and moved to Littlefield, Texas to raise their family. She was not only a homemaker and devoted wife but was a caretaker personally and professionally. Later moving to San Antonio, Texas she continued caring for little ones in her home and touched many hearts with her nurturing ways.
She was beautifully talented at crocheting and creating decor for not just herself but her family and elderly. She lived for all her babies. She cared for everyone in the most genuine manner. She created delicious feasts when her family came together. She admired how we all enjoyed the welcoming meal she prepared. She held the family together and kept us close. She was was very strong in her Catholic faith and always looked to The Lord for guidance and peace. Her strength and her faith is survived in us all.
Visitation will be at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, 78253 on Friday, May 29, 2020 beginning at 9:00 A.M. with a rosary at 10:00 A.M. and a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
