She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolfo M. Elizondo and Maria DeLeon Elizondo. Juanita is survived by her cousin, Manuel Arias and his wife, Rose Arias and numerous other cousins and family.
Juanita received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She retired from Fiesta Mart, Inc. where she was a Director of Corporate Relations and previously, Director of Human Resources. Juanita is a true servant and lived her life supporting numerous community organizations for United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast and served on the Executive Committee of the Board, Sheltering Arms, Houston Area Women’s Center, Rusk School Health Project, YMCA-International Services. She served on the Advisory Committee of the San Jacinto Girl Scouts Hispanic Outreach Program and the Mental Health Association. She also served as a board member of Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, the Council on Alcohol Abuse in Houston, Vice-Chair of the City of Houston Civil Service Commission and senior fellow of the Houston Gulf Coast chapter of the American Leadership Forum. Juanita loved to travel the world and spent time visiting family in California and Texas with her mother. The family thanks the nurses and staff at Landon Ridge- Alamo Ranch Memory Care Facility for providing exceptional care for Juanita and all the residents and the families. We will always remember our much loved, Juanita.
Visitation will begin Monday, November 26, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78237 at 10 a.m. with a Chapel Service to be held at 12:00 p.m. Procession will follow for interment at San Fernando Cemetery III.
