Juan Gamboa

Juan Gamboa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, entered rest on January 4, 2013 at the age of 80. He was born in Laredo, Texas to Nicanor and Juanita Gamboa on June 24, 1932. Juan was a cook with the Little Red Barn for over 43 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 4 siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mariana; their children: Blanca Estella Thomas and husband Stephen, Rosie Gamboa, Juan Gamboa Jr., Sara Valdez and husband Raul, Hector Gamboa, Minerva Morales and husband Lorenzo, Vanessa Mendoza; grandchildren: Patrick, Justin, Marissa, Anthony, Lorenzo II, Damien, Fernando Jr., Victoria; brother, Dolores Gamboa. He will be remembered by his family as a simple man with a sense of humor who loved music and dancing.

The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013 to celebrate an 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Services to conclude at the church.
