Josie Mae Rihn went to be with the Lord February 9, 2013. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 18, 1924 to parents John and Sadie Read. Josie worked over 40 years as a beautician and owned and operated Joreen’s Beauty Salon on West Avenue. After her retirement, she and her husband, the ‘luv’ of her life, Johnny, opened Johnny’s Luv Ice House on West Avenue.
Josie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John B. Rihn; sisters, Emily Read and Lee Roeder and brother-in-law Roy Pfeil. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Carl) Meyer; son, Drs. Michael (Teresa) Rihn; sister, Dorothy Pfeil; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 11 from 6PM to 8PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 12 at 2PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas. Josie will be laid to rest following the service at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
