Josie Ogden went home to be with our Lord at age 86 on January 18, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas with her family by her side. She was born on November 26, 1935, in Atascosa, Texas to Juan L and Catarina Alvarado. She is preceded in death by her parents Juan L. and Catarina Alvarado, sisters Alicia Alvarado, Ninfa Trevino, brothers Lorenzo Alvarado, Alfredo Alvarado, and Filimon Alvarado.
Josie is survived by her children Norma Ogden, Gloria Ogden Silva (Roland), Richard Ogden (Rosalie), and Albert Ogden (Linda). Her grandchildren Candice McManus (Brian) Eric Ogden, Lori Rodriguez (Chris), Ryane Silva, Jared Silva, Casey Ogden (Verona) Brandon Ogden (Mana) Brianna Ogden, and Zachary Ogden; 8 great-grandchildren.
Josie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was a breast cancer survivor and a strong beautiful woman. Josie was the founder of Ogden’s barbacoa and worked hard to support her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Josie worked as a librarian at Athens Elementary School while working toward obtaining her real estate license. Josie was a retired housing inspector with the City of San Antonio Housing Authority.
She will be dearly missed by all who were close to her.
Visitation and viewing will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Trevino Funeral Home from 8:30 am to 9:30 am with a Rosary to be recited immediately after the viewing. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Claire Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Mission Park Cemetery.
