Born on August 3, 1958, in Waco, Texas, he was the sixth child of Frank and Margaret Greco. He graduated from Holmes High School and entered the United States Air Force shortly after graduation, where he made many life-long friends and played a lot of softball. After leaving the Air Force, he began work in Civil Service. He spent 42 years in Civil Service and was respected for his hard work, dedication and expertise. He recently retired in July of 2023.
Joe met the love of his life, Shana, and they were married for 30 wonderful years. They were blessed with a total of four children whom they loved and adored. To say he was proud of his children would be an understatement, everyone he met knew his son played drums for a band named Uncle Lucius and he shared their music with everyone. Joe was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a man of integrity, always putting his family needs above his own.
Joe loved to play golf and enjoyed spending time with friends who shared this hobby. He had a deep connection with music and loved listening to all types of music. He shared this passion with his son, Josh, and daughter, Colleen. He also enjoyed officiating high school football and basketball for almost 30 years. He was known for his quick wit, kind heart and his willingness to help others.
He is preceded in death by his sister Rosemary, mother Margaret, and father Frank. He is survived by his wife, Shana, his children Kristy Foreman (Scott), Joshua Greco (Kaitlan), Colleen Grizzle (Bryant) and Nicole Greco (Andy Rowley), his siblings James Miller (Mary), Michael Greco (Lori), Patricia Kauts (Hal), Theresa Greco, Frank Greco, Mary Greco, and James Greco (Donna) and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at The Quarry Golf Club at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Kids North Texas, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Joe will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
